so i just found out that quantic dream's star wars: eclipse is having some major issues. like, we haven't heard much about it since that sick cinematic trailer back in 2021, and now it turns out the devs are struggling to get it done. apparently, the studio is understaffed, which is kinda crazy considering how ambitious the project is supposed to be.

i think what's even crazier is that the studio just laid off 115 staff members who were working on a different game, spellcaster chronicles, which got cancelled. and now those devs are saying that they're needed to help finish star wars: eclipse, or else it's gonna be a mess. they even went on strike during a visit from lucasfilm to make their point, which is pretty bold if you ask me.

from what i've read, it sounds like the studio's management and the devs are not seeing eye to eye on this whole situation. the devs are saying that they need more staff to get the game done, but management is all like "no, we're good". and it's not just that - the studio is owned by netease, who apparently made the call to cancel spellcaster chronicles. it's all pretty complicated, but it seems like the devs are feeling pretty frustrated with the whole situation.

i'm definitely curious to see how all of this plays out. the devs are planning a series of protests, called the "summer strike fest", to try and get their point across to management. and honestly, i'm kinda rooting for them - i mean, who doesn't want to see a good star wars game get made? but at the same time, it's hard not to feel a little worried about the state of the gaming industry as a whole. likeRead more: Full article on www.pcgamer.com
