okay, so i just heard that quantic dream's star wars game, eclipse, is still pretty far from being finished. like, we're talking years away. which is kinda bumming me out, since i'm super stoked about the idea of a cinematic star wars experience. i mean, can you blame me? quantic dream is the studio behind heavy rain and detroit: become human, so i know they can deliver some serious emotional punches.

so, apparently, the game is still in development, and quantic dream is trying to reassure everyone that it's still happening. they're also working on some new competitive multiplayer game, which sounds pretty cool, but i'm still more hyped about eclipse. i've seen some leaked concept art, and it looks like they're experimenting with some interesting characters - like a gungan that's definitely not jar jar binks, thank goodness. i'm all about that dark, mysterious vibe, and i hope they can pull it off.

it's been a bit of a rocky road for quantic dream, though. they were bought by netease, the publisher behind diablo immortal, and there have been some layoffs and closures. the lead writer for eclipse even left to start their own studio, where they're working on a "dark, mature fantasy rpg" that sounds totally up my alley. but quantic dream is still plugging away at eclipse, and they say it's going to be an action-adventure game with some familiar elements from their previous games.
