Full access to the Proton suite of applications here for $6.49/month. You have to pay in full for the entire year, but you get a VPN, mail service, a cloud drive with 500 GB of storage, a calendar, and an authenticator.

Access to: Proton VPN | Proton Pass | Proton Mail | Proton Drive | Proton Calendar | Proton Pass

Access to Proton's excellent VPN is offered for just $2.99/month. Though again you have to pay up front to secure the deal, that's still two years for less than if you were to sign up for one year at the normal price. It's a solid VPN that blocks ads, allows you to get around georestrictions, and masks your traffic.

Key info: 120+ countries | Blocks ads, trackers and malware | Up to 10 devices at once | No logs

Yes, it may seem a bit early for companies to announce their Black Friday deals, but Proton's collection of reductions is so good it's worth the name drop.

Starting off, you can pick up Proton Unlimited for $6.49 a month. You do have to pay just shy of $80 up front for the year, but that's the price of what would usually get you just six months of Proton Unlimited.

And for that monthly cost, you are getting a lot of tools. You get Proton's mail and calendar services, which are a solid alternative to Google. They are privacy-focused, with end-to-end encryption and totally ad-free (unlike Google).

Proton Unlimited also gives you access to Proton Drive, a Google Drive alternative that is once again security-focused, and you get 500 GB with this plan.

Also included in Proton Unlimited is Proton Pass, a password generator and storage service. That means you won't have to remember your passwords, and you can be assured it picks safe and nearly impossible-to-guess passwords.

Finally, you get Proton VPN, which encrypts your traffic, masks your IP address and allows you to bypass geo-restrictions on online services.

If you are looking to pick up Proton VPN by itself, it's cheaper if you go in on the 24-month plan. This will cost you just over $70, or $3 a month. That is a saving of $168.

If you are based in the UK, this is still available there too, with the Proton VPN subscription being £2.39 a month and Proton Unlimited being £5.19 a month.

Still, no matter which Proton service you go for, there are super solid plans available this Black Friday. They are well worth taking advantage of if you've been looking for an excuse to ditch Google, or simply don't like how much of your traffic is traceable online.

It was not until 2019, after just finishing a degree in law and media, that they decided to throw out the last few years of education, build their PC, and start writing about gaming instead. In that time, he has covered the latest doodads, contraptions, and gismos, and loved every second of it. Hey, it’s better than writing case briefs.
