so i just heard that pocketpair, the devs behind palworld, are working on the next update, version 1.1. it's kinda exciting because the game just went into full release in july and it's still doing really well, with a ton of concurrent players on steam. i've been playing it on and off since it was in early access, and i have to say, it's been a wild ride.

apparently, the devs were asking for suggestions for the next update, and they got a bit more than they bargained for. over 2,000 responses later, they had to kind of dial it back and let people know that they're not planning on spending a whole year working on a massive update. i can understand why, though - some of the suggestions were pretty crazy, like adding a whole new continent or 20 more levels. that's a lot to take on, especially if you want to get the update out anytime soon.

i think it's cool that the devs are being open and honest about what they can and can't do, though. they're saying that they're still looking for ideas, but they need to be a bit more manageable. for example, someone asked about adding a "variant system" for pals, and the devs said it wouldn't be hard, but it would be really time-consuming - we're talking a year or more of work. they're not keen on automating it, either, which i can respect. it's clear that they're passionate about putting in the work to make the game the best it can be.
