so, you guys might've heard about the paranormal activity game that was supposed to come out, called threshold. it's pretty sad, but it's been cancelled. i know some of you were hyped for it, and i was kinda curious too, even though i wasn't totally sure how they'd translate the whole found footage vibe into a game.

apparently, the dev, brian clarke, needed more time to make sure the game was up to par, and his team dreadxp was all for that. but paramount, the ones who own the paranormal activity ip, weren't having it. they didn't want to give them an extension, which is pretty understandable, i guess. i mean, companies want to make money, and delays can be pricey. but at the same time, it's a bummer when a game gets cancelled just because of time constraints.

i can kinda see why clarke didn't want to rush the game, though. i mean, paranormal activity is all about the creepy atmosphere and suspense, and if the game didn't deliver on that, it would've been a total letdown. and clarke seems like a dev who really cares about his work, so i can respect that he didn't want to release something he wouldn't be proud of. it's just a shame that it had to come to this, you know? preorders are available for other games, but not this one, sadly.
