omg, you guys, i'm so stoked about paralives, this new life sim that just hit early access. it's literally everything i've been asking for in a life sim - more strategy, more challenge, more depth. i mean, i've been playing sims since i was a kid, and over the years, it's just gotten so... easy. but paralives is like a breath of fresh air, you know?

so, when you start playing, you get to choose from these three "storytellers" that basically determine how the game plays out. they're like, personified figures that give you different gameplay effects, difficulty levels, and even personality upgrades. it's so cool! and the best part is, you can even create your own custom storyteller, tweaking all sorts of settings like the rate of time, life stages, and even how easy or hard it is to get in trouble at work.

i've been playing with the default storytellers, and it's already so much more engaging than other life sims i've played. like, with one of them, your paras (that's what they call the characters in the game) automatically eat and use the bathroom while they're at work, but with another one, they don't, so you have to make sure they're taking care of themselves. it's little things like that which make the game feel so much more realistic and immersive.
