omg, you guys, i just heard the craziest story about someone who got locked out of their bitcoin account over a decade ago and just managed to get back in. apparently, they had a whopping $400,000 worth of bitcoin just sitting there, inaccessible, because they forgot their password. like, can you even imagine?

so, the person in question, @cprkrn, had stored five bitcoin in an account back in 2015, but then they got a little too relaxed and changed their password while, uh, not entirely sober. and, of course, they couldn't remember what the new password was. they tried a ridiculous number of passwords - 'like 7 trillion' - but nothing worked. it's pretty hilarious, actually, that they were so determined to get back in.

anyway, after all these years, @cprkrn finally managed to regain access to their account using some fancy tech called claude. apparently, claude is some kind of super smart tool that can help you find lost passwords and stuff. @cprkrn dumped their entire old college computer into claude, and it managed to find an old wallet file that had the password they needed. it's kind of amazing, really, that it worked out in the end.

i have to wonder, though, what would have happened if @cprkrn had gotten back into their account sooner. would they have sold their bitcoin and missed out on all the extra value it gained over the years? as it is, their five bitcoin are now worth a pretty staggering amount - around $300,000 each, if i'm doing the math right. that's just wild. and, apparently, @cprkrn is planning to celebrate by asking deadmauRead more: Full article on www.pcgamer.com
