so, you know how pc gaming can be super expensive, right? like, even a mid-range rig can cost a pretty penny. but intel might be trying to change that, which is pretty cool. their vp, robert hallock, was talking about how they want to make high-performance stuff more accessible to people who aren't made of money.

basically, intel wants to offer more cpus that can be overclocked, but at lower price points. hallock said that overclocking shouldn't just be for people who can afford the super expensive chips. i mean, just because someone can't drop $500 on a cpu doesn't mean they're not a hardcore pc enthusiast. they still deserve to have some of the same features as the high-end stuff. and that's what intel is trying to do with their future plans.

right now, if you want to overclock an intel cpu, you usually need to get one with a 'k' designator, which can be pretty pricey. but intel is looking to change that. they might start offering more cpus with overclocking capabilities, even at lower price points. like, the intel core ultra 5 245k is already a thing, and it can be overclocked. so maybe we'll see even more chips like that in the future.

but, i mean, the question is, would you even want to overclock a lower-end chip? it's not always worth it, you know? you need to have the right power and thermals, or it's just not gonna be worth the trouble. and sometimes, the performance gain just isn't that big of a deal. still, it's cool that intel is trying to make overclocking more accessible to everyone, not just the people with deep pockets.
