omg, you guys, the original resident evil trilogy is finally on steam, and i am totally stoked. i mean, we've had these classics on other platforms for a while now, but it's awesome to see them make their way to valve's storefront. and the best part? they've got a fresh coat of paint, courtesy of gog, which means they're all tweaked and ready to run smoothly on our modern hardware.

so, what can you expect from these revamped versions? well, for starters, they're all available on steam as of april 2nd, and they're on sale for 50% off until april 15th. that means you can snag each of them for a ridiculously low price of £4/$5/€5. and let me tell you, it's a total steal. i've heard that the original resident evil, for example, comes with a bunch of handy tweaks and additions that make it way easier to play on today's computers.

but here's the thing: these steam versions come with enigma drm, which is a bit of a bummer. i mean, i get that it's meant to prevent piracy and all that, but it can be a bit of a hassle. and apparently, it's the same drm that capcom pulled from the resident evil 4 remake due to performance issues. still, if you're willing to put up with it, the games are supposed to run pretty smoothly on steam deck, too - you just need to set up some custom inputs or use some community-made ones.
