omg, you guys, i just heard about the craziest thing - apparently, openai was kicking around this insane plan to get world leaders to compete against each other, kinda like a real-life call of duty villain. i mean, i've seen some wild stuff in my favorite games, but this is just ridiculous.

so, supposedly, some ex-employees are saying that openai's president, greg brockman, was all about this idea where they'd play countries like china and russia against each other, getting them to bid on who could invest the most in openai's tech. it's like, a prisoner's dilemma, where every country feels like they need to throw money at openai or they'll be left behind. i don't know, it sounds pretty shady to me.

openai, of course, is denying all of this, saying it was just some casual conversation that never went anywhere. but, allegedly, there are documents from the time that show this "countries plan" was actually pretty popular with openai's execs. it's hard to say what really went down, but it's definitely got me raising an eyebrow. i mean, can you imagine if this had actually happened? it's like something out of a dystopian novel or a really intense game of risk.

i guess what's even crazier is that this all came out in some huge article about openai's ceo, sam altman, and how he's been accused of being pretty dishonest. i don't know much about the guy, but it sounds like he's got a pretty sketchy track record. anyway, preorders are available at major retailers for the latest issue of the new yorker, which has the full scoop on all this drama. if you'reRead more: Full article on www.pcgamer.com
