so i just heard that one of the directors of bioshock has been thinking about the whole plasmid system in the game, and how it's kinda pointless to have all these different powers if you're just gonna stick to the one you like. i mean, i can totally relate to that - i've played bioshock and i definitely found myself just using the same old powers over and over again.

the director, jonathan chey, is actually working on a new game now called godzone 6, which is trying to solve this problem by taking inspiration from roguelikes and deckbuilders. apparently, the game is all about exploring different possibilities and trying out new things, but with a twist - you don't always get to choose what you want, and you have to make do with what you're given. i think that's a really cool idea, and it could definitely make for a more interesting gameplay experience.

one of the things that chey is trying to do with godzone 6 is to make the game more replayable, by giving players a random set of abilities and challenges each time they play. he's compared it to games like slay the spire, where you have to build a deck of cards and make strategic decisions about what to do. it sounds like godzone 6 is going to have a similar feel, but with a more immersive sim style of gameplay. i'm really curious to see how it turns out, and whether it'll be able to avoid the problem of players just sticking to what they know and love.

i have to say, i'm a bit guilty of doing that myself - when i play games like bioshock or dishonored, i tend to find a strategy that works and just stick with it. but atRead more: Full article on www.pcgamer.com
