so i just heard that atlus is teasing something new with the original persona games, and i'm not sure if i should be excited or just roll my eyes. apparently, they've launched some new merchandise on amazon, featuring the classic games, but with a twist - they're calling them "persona 1 origins" and "persona 2 duality" now. it's not just a simple rebrand, though, because this merch drop includes some pretty cool stuff like phone cases, mugs, and even baseball caps.



i have to admit, i'm a bit skeptical about the whole thing. i mean, atlus has been releasing persona games left and right, but they've been neglecting the older fans who are still waiting for some love for the original games. it's been decades since persona 1 and 2 came out, and we've seen countless spin-offs and remasters of the newer games, but nothing for the classics. so, when i heard about this rebrand, i thought maybe, just maybe, atlus is finally listening to us. but then i saw that it's just a merch drop, and i was like, "really, atlus? that's it?"



but, as i thought about it more, i realized that this rebrand might actually be a sign of something bigger. i mean, why would atlus bother creating new names for the old games if they weren't planning on doing something more with them? it's possible that they're just testing the waters, seeing how fans react to the new names, before announcing something bigger. and, let's be real, the names themselves are pretty cool - "persona 1 origins" and "persona 2 duality" have a nice ring to them.
