Quest for more.

Ocarina of Time's notoriously tricky Master Quest mode could be making a comeback in the new remake.
Dataminer MrCheeze shared a list of strings from the remake's files on Bluesky, several of which tie the tag "MQ" to dungeons like Dodongo's Cavern.
In a follow-up, as spotted by TheGamer, they pointed to further entries, including "HasMQ", "IsMQModeExist", "NewGameMQ", and "ReleaseMQ".
Fellow dataminer OatmealDome added on Twitter/X that the mode will be unlocked by owning DLC, rather than arriving in an update, though "the data is incomplete". "I can confirm that the world is mirrored and dungeons are modified (e.g. cows in Jabu-Jabu's Belly)," they said.

If you've not played it, Master Quest is a remixed version of Ocarina of Time with rearranged dungeons and tougher puzzles. It first appeared as a bonus disc on GameCube, then came back in 2011's Ocarina of Time 3D, which unlocked it after you finished the main game. That version also mirrored the whole world, which matches what OatmealDome has found, and had enemies deal double damage.
[Ocarina of Time] #ootspoilersThere is data in the game files for Master Quest. It will be unlocked by *owning DLC* - it is not just an update. The data is incomplete, but I can confirm that the world is mirrored and dungeons are modified (e.g. cows in Jabu-Jabu's Belly).
As with any datamine, there's no guarantee it'll ever see the light of day. Nintendo hasn't announced any DLC for the remake, and it's not clear whether Master Quest would be free, like it was on 3DS, or paid.
The Ocarina of Time remake launched on Switch 2 on 5th November. Donlan called the new version an "astonishing remake" in his five-star Eurogamer Ocarina of Time review.
