so i just stumbled upon this pretty interesting post from a game director at obsidian entertainment, and i have to say, it's got me thinking. basically, the director, brandon adler, was talking about how tough it's been to see people trashing the studio and saying it's not what it used to be. i can kinda get why that would be frustrating, especially when people are spreading misinformation.

i think what's important to note here is that adler is actually directing a new, unannounced game at obsidian, so he's got a pretty good idea of what's going on behind the scenes. and from what he's saying, it sounds like the studio is still got the same core values and people that made games like the outer worlds and pillars of eternity so awesome. like, the same people who worked on those games are still leading the charge, which is pretty cool.

so, in case you missed it, obsidian did just get hit with some pretty big job cuts, courtesy of microsoft's xbox division. apparently, the studio lost a quarter of its staff, which is just devastating. and to make matters worse, it sounds like they had to cancel some projects, including a sequelRead more: Full article on www.eurogamer.net
