omg, have you guys heard about nvidia's new rubin servers? they're going to be total game changers, but also kinda terrifying for us consumers. apparently, their new context memory storage (cmx) tech is going to need a ton of nand to function, and we're talking hundreds of millions of terabytes. that's insane.



so, basically, cmx is like a middle ground between high bandwidth memory and regular storage. it's way faster than normal storage, but still has a huge capacity. and the best part is that it can be shared between different ai accelerators, which makes it super useful for things like machine learning. but, of course, this means that nvidia is going to be needing a lot of nand to make it all work.



i've been reading that the demand for nand is going to surge from 35 million terabytes this year to over 100 million terabytes next year. that's a huge jump, and it's going to be really tough for manufacturers to keep up. samsung is trying to get in on the action by becoming a key supplier to nvidia, but it's still going to be a challenge. and, honestly, i'm a bit worried about what this means for us consumers. are we going to see prices go up even more?

preorders are available at major retailers, but i'm not sure if i'm ready to shell out the cash just yet. i mean, the tech is definitely cool, but it's also super expensive. and with the demand for nand being so high, i'm worried that it's going to be hard to get my hands on one of these servers. i guess we'll just have to wait and see how it all plays out.
