omg, you guys, have you heard the news? uwe boll, the infamous director behind some of the most cringeworthy videogame movie adaptations, is making a comeback with a spiritual successor to his 2003 film house of the dead. i mean, i'm not sure if we should be excited or terrified, but it's definitely going to be an interesting ride. apparently, boll was inspired to create this new film, titled 23 years later—-the castle of the dead, after hearing that paul w.s. anderson is working on an official house of the dead reboot.

i have to admit, i'm a bit curious about what boll has in store for us this time around. the original house of the dead film was, um, let's just say it was a unique experience, with a whopping 3% rotten tomatoes score. but hey, at least it was memorable, right? and who knows, maybe boll has learned from his past mistakes and will surprise us with something actually good this time. but let's be real, we're probably in for another campy, over-the-top, and possibly downright terrible film that we'll all love to hate.

according to reports, principal photography for 23 years later—-the castle of the dead is set to start on september 5, but no release date has been announced yet. the film will feature some familiar faces, including jonathan cherry and ona grauer, who starred in the original house of the dead film. and, of course, it wouldn't be a uwe boll film without a healthy dose of gore and zombies, so expect plenty of that. as boll himself put it, he wants to create a "bloody, gory and handmade" zombie movie
