so, you guys know how sony's been dealing with the whole playstation thing, right? well, it looks like they're changing up their strategy when it comes to pricing their consoles. basically, they're saying they don't want to take a huge hit to their profits just to keep their consoles cheap.

i mean, it makes sense, kinda. they've already raised the price of the ps5 a few times since it came out, and apparently, that hasn't stopped people from buying it. but at the same time, i've heard that ps5 sales have actually been pretty low lately, especially in the us and uk. so, it's hard to say if this new approach is gonna work out for them.

according to some recent q&a session with sony's ceo, hideaki nishino, they're all about providing a good gaming experience, and they don't want to absorb all the costs of making their consoles. which, fair enough, but it also means we can expect to pay more for their stuff in the future. they've already started doing this with the ps5, and it looks like the ps6 is gonna be even more expensive.
preorders are available at major retailers, but i'm not sure if i'm ready to drop a thousand bucks on a new console just yet. i mean, i love gaming and all, but that's just crazy. apparently, the cost of making a single ps6 console is already around $960, just because of all the fancy components they're using. so, yeah, it's gonna be a pricey one.
