i mean, think about it - if nintendo manages to patent this idea, it could affect so many other games out there. like, what about all the other monster-catching games, or games where you summon characters to fight for you? it's not exactly a new concept, and it's hard to see how nintendo can claim it as their own. i'm not a lawyer or anything, but it seems like they're trying to grasp at straws here.
