omg, you guys, msi just announced this insane new monitor - the pro max oled 271upjw12. it's a 27-inch 4k oled monitor that's actually not made by samsung or lg, which is kinda cool. it uses this inkjet-printed panel technology that's supposed to be way cheaper than the traditional method.



so, what does this mean for us gamers? well, the monitor has a 120hz refresh rate, which is pretty sweet, and it can get up to 1000 nits peak brightness. it also has this optimised rgb stripe subpixel layout that's supposed to give us super clear images without any colour fringing. i'm definitely intrigued by this tech, and i think it could be a game changer for gaming monitors.



but, here's the thing - this monitor isn't really meant for gaming. it's more focused on colour precision, which makes it perfect for professionals who need super accurate colours. it's got a 99% dci-p3 wide colour gamut, which is crazy. i can see why msi would want to target professionals with this monitor, but i'm still hoping it'll be affordable for us gamers too.

unfortunately, we don't know when this monitor is coming out or how much it'll cost. the similar qd-oled monitor from msi is around $700, so i'm hoping this one will be cheaper. preorders are available at major retailers, so we'll just have to wait and see. i'm keeping my fingers crossed that it'll be under $500, but we'll just have to wait and see.
