omg, you guys, have you heard the latest rumors about microsoft and their game studios? it's like, they're considering shutting down some of the studios they acquired to boost game pass, and now arkane is on the chopping block too. that's the studio behind some of my fave games, and i'm low-key worried about what's going to happen to them.



apparently, the blade game they were working on is also in trouble - it was supposed to come out this year, but now it's been pushed to next year and has gone over budget. i was pretty hyped for that game, and i'm not sure what's going to happen to it now. microsoft is also thinking about selling arkane, which is just crazy to me. i mean, i know they want to cut costs, but can't they just, like, find a way to make it work?



there's a big date coming up - july 6th - when xbox is supposedly going to start laying people off. up to 1000 people could be affected, which is just devastating. and if the five studios that are in trouble right now do end up getting closed, that's even more jobs lost. i'm sending all my best vibes to the devs who are going to be affected by this.

it's not just arkane and blade that are in trouble, either. io interactive's project fantasy has lost its external partner, which is apparently xbox. and hideo kojima's od game is supposedly still okay, but who knows what's going to happen next. preorders are available at major retailers, but i'm not sure if anyone's going to be buying these games if the studios behind them are shut down.
