so, you guys heard about marathon, right? it's this pretty intense game that's been getting a lot of attention lately, and not just because of its massive $200m budget. apparently, the devs are super committed to keeping it alive, despite some players starting to dip out. i mean, 1.2 million copies sold worldwide isn't too shabby, especially since most of those sales were on steam.

one of the biggest discussions in the marathon community right now is about how to balance out some of the game's most overpowered attachments. i've been following along, and it's pretty interesting to see how fiercely people feel about it. some players are totally convinced that one attachment in particular needs a serious nerf, while others are all about finding ways to make it work. either way, it's clear that the devs are listening - they've already announced plans to make some changes, including a "merciful option" that'll supposedly make things a bit more manageable.

i'm also stoked to hear that bungie is taking cheating super seriously. they've got a zero-tolerance policy in place, which is awesome news for anyone who's gotten frustrated with cheaters ruining the game. and, in a move that's sure to make a lot of players happy, they've removed one of the most annoying movement exploits from the game. on top of all that, they're bringing back a lucrative loot opportunity, which is always a good thing.
