so i just found out that marathon players are getting way too much loot in season 2 and it's kinda crazy. apparently, the progression system has become super easy, which is pretty ironic considering the game's reputation for being tough. i mean, in season 1, you were lucky to get anything good, but now players are swimming in loot and it's messing with the game's economy.

i guess bungie, the devs, are trying to figure out what's going on and they've already found a few issues that are contributing to the problem. there were some bugs that were giving out guaranteed gold drops in certain areas, and they've fixed those. they've also tweaked some other things, like sponsored kits and a valuable chest in the complex control area, that were making it too easy for players to get ahead. but the main cause of the problem is still a mystery, and bungie is still trying to work it out.

it's pretty interesting that bungie didn't see this issue in their internal playtests, so it's clear that something unexpected is going on. they've made some temporary changes to try and balance things out, like turning off boosted containers and nerfing cradle xp rates. but these changes are only temporary, and they plan to reverse them later in the season when they've found a more permanent solution. i'm curious to see how this all plays out, and i'm sure some players are loving the extra loot, but it's also good that bungie is taking steps to fix the problem.

preorders are available at major retailers, and if you're a fan of marathon, you might want to check it out. the game has some new features, like the night-time dire marsh map and sponsored survival, that are prettyRead more: Full article on www.pcgamer.com
