The launch of Diablo 4's Season of Hell's Legacy got off to a rough start. The anticipated season was announced at BlizzCon over the weekend to arrive alongside a 30th anniversary celebration of the Diablo franchise. And though Season of Hell's Legacy eventually went live, it did so several hours after it was supposed to.

Players reported running into a number of login issues, with error codes 300006 and 300008 the most commonly reported. "We're aware of an issue preventing some players from accessing Diablo 4. The team is actively investigating and working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible," was the Diablo account's immediate response on X.

Two hours later, the Diablo account posted another update announcing the season launch delay, and Diablo 4 was entirely inaccessible throughout that period and for hours later. "We're continuing to address issues affecting today's launch of Season of Hell's Legacy. As a result, Season 15 is currently delayed. We appreciate your patience while we work to resolve the issues and we'll share updates as we have them."

It took another two hours for things to approve, with Blizzard confirming log in issues had been resolved, but some game features had to be temporarily disabled. The season ended up going live over six hours later.

Season of Hell's Legacy is the game's new live service season and a celebration of the Diablo series' 30th anniversary. It brings back Deckard Cain, an iconic character who's been in almost every Diablo game, to lead the player through a quest against all three prime evils: Baal, Mephisto and Diablo. The quest recreates several memorable moments from past games, and the season introduces nine Legacy Unique items inspired by their classic counterparts, plus myriad tweaks and alterations

The new season also coincided with the long-awaited launch of Diablo 4 on Switch 2, which means this outage was Switch 2 players' first experience of the game. Blizzard unveiled the new season at BlizzCon 2026 this past weekend, where it also announced the returning Amazon class from Diablo 2 for Diablo 4, coming in a paid pack in the first half of 2027, and where it surprise-announced Diablo 5, coming 2029, as well as a Netflix animated Diablo show.
