so i just heard about last flag, a capture the flag shooter that's been having a tough time finding its audience. it's pretty sad, because the game actually got some decent reviews - like, the editor of pc gamer thought it was pretty cool. but i guess it just didn't catch on, and the developers, night street games, have been trying to figure out what to do next.

one thing that's kinda interesting about last flag is that the co-founders of night street games are actually the manager and lead singer of imagine dragons. yeah, that's right - mac and dan reynolds are behind the game. but despite their fame, the game just didn't take off. the devs tried making it free to play on weekends, but that didn't seem to help, and eventually they had to accept that the player count just wasn't where they needed it to be.

so, in a pretty unsurprising move, night street games just laid off about half of their employees. that's always tough to hear, because you know that real people are losing their jobs. but the ceo, mac reynolds, seems to be handling it with class - they're going to be working with the laid-off employees to help them find new jobs, and they're still committed to giving last flag a proper send-off. that includes some new content, like characters, maps, and game modes, which is pretty cool.
