so i just found out that avalanche studios, the devs behind just cause, were working on a game that sounds kinda like crimson desert. apparently, they were really into creating this massive open world with a fantasy vibe, but for some reason, every publisher they approached just wasn't having it. it's pretty wild to think about what could've been if they'd gotten the green light.

i mean, can you imagine a game with the same level of destruction and chaos as just cause, but set in a fantasy world? it sounds like it could've been so much fun. i'm a huge fan of crimson desert, and i love how it combines action and exploration in this huge open world. if avalanche studios had been able to bring their own twist to the genre, it could've been really something special.

it's not all bad news, though - crimson desert is still getting plenty of love from its devs. there are some updates in the works that sound pretty cool, like the ability to rematch bosses and some new difficulty settings. and, of course, there are always mods to add some extra flair to the game. i've seen some pretty crazy mods out there, like the one that lets you create your own female character - it's amazing what the community can come up with.
i've been playing crimson desert pretty regularly, and i have to say, it's still one of my favorite games right now. the puzzles can be a bit frustrating at times, but it's always satisfying to figure them out. and the strongboxes - oh man, those things are like a treasure hunt. i've spent hours trying to track them all down. anyway, preorders are available at major retailers, if you're interested in checking it out.
