omg, you guys, i just heard about the most ridiculous thing happening with nvidia's dlss 5 reveal trailer. apparently, some italian tv channel called la7 used footage from the trailer in one of their broadcasts, and then they had the nerve to copyright strike nvidia's own youtube channel. like, what even is that?

so basically, the trailer was unavailable in italy for over 24 hours because of this copyright claim. it's pretty funny, considering how much hate dlss 5 has been getting from players and the games industry in general. it's like, the universe is just trolling nvidia at this point. but anyway, la7's little stunt didn't just affect nvidia - it also got other youtube creators' videos demonetized and region-blocked because of the copyright claim.

i'm not even kidding, it's like la7 thought they could just use nvidia's footage without permission and then claim ownership of it. and youtube's content id system just ate it up, without even bothering to check the dates and see that la7 was the one who used the footage without permission. it's pretty messed up, and it's not like this is the first time we've seen youtube's system being abused like this.
luckily, it seems like the issue has been resolved now - la7 released their claim, and nvidia's reveal trailer is once again viewable in italy. but it's still pretty wild that this happened in the first place. and it's a good reminder that youtube's content id system needs some serious work, because this kind of thing should not be happening. preorders are available at major retailers, by the way, if you're still interested in checking out dlss 5 despite all the drama.
