oh my gosh, you guys, pokémon go just celebrated its 10th anniversary in the most epic way possible - by recreating the original trailer's times square mewtwo raid. i mean, who wouldn't want to battle a legendary psychic-type in the heart of new york city? it's like a dream come true for any pokémon fan.

so, apparently, there were rumors circulating before the event that mewtwo might make an appearance, and let's just say the hints were pretty subtle. i mean, the 10th anniversary art was already a bit of a giveaway, but the fact that the mewtwo in the shibuya pokémon center vanished from its container was like, super suspicious. anyway, when times square went dark, it was confirmed - mewtwo was back, and it was time to get our battle on.

over 1,000 players joined in on the community raid, which was pretty amazing to see. and, of course, there was a twist - mewtwo mega evolved into mega mewtwo y, which is like, the best mewtwo mega evolution in my opinion. the fact that our pokémon and avatars appeared on the screens surrounding times square was just, wow. it was like we were all connected, you know? and the best part? we got to battle mega mewtwo y not once, but twice, with a guaranteed "hundo" the second time around.

i can only imagine how cool it must have been to be there in person, surrounded by other pokémon fans who are just as passionate about the game as you are. the article i read said it was like being transported back to the summer of 2016, when pokémon go first came out and it was allRead more: Full article on www.eurogamer.net
