so, it looks like samsung is jumping into the pc processor game, which is pretty exciting news for all of us gamers out there. i mean, who doesn't love a little competition, right? apparently, they're taking a cue from nvidia and creating their own arm-based chip, called gaia, which is supposed to be ready for production as early as next year.

i have to say, i'm a bit curious about the name gaia - it's like, isn't that the name of the earth or something? anyway, moving on from that, it seems like samsung's gaia chip is going to be based on a 4 nm process, which is the same as what amd and nvidia are using. but, get this, samsung's own 4 nm tech hasn't been as widely adopted, so it's going to be interesting to see how this all plays out.

one thing that's got me pretty hyped is the potential for some decent competition against nvidia's rtx spark and qualcomm's arm-based chips. i mean, we all know that competition is what drives innovation, right? and who knows, maybe we'll even see some price drops on those other chips. preorders are available at major retailers, so i'm guessing we'll start to see more information trickle out in the coming months.
