omg, you guys, i just heard the worst news - io interactive, the devs behind hitman and that new bond game, are having layoffs. apparently, their external partner for project fantasy just pulled out, and now the studio has to make some tough decisions. i'm talking staffing decisions, aka people are going to lose their jobs, and that's just so sad.

i know io interactive has been on a high lately, what with the success of 007 first light and all, but i guess this partnership ending is a major blow. they're trying to stay positive, saying that project fantasy is still happening and they're committed to it, but it's hard to see how that's going to comfort the people who are about to lose their jobs. i mean, i'd be devastated if i was in their shoes. the studio is saying they'll support those affected, but it's still a really tough time for them.

so, what do we know about project fantasy, anyway? not much, it turns out. it was announced back in 2023, and we know it's an online game, but that's pretty much it. there were some rumors that it was going to be published by xbox game studios, but now i'm not so sure. maybe that's the partner that pulled out, who knows. all i know is that it's coming to pc and xbox series x/s, whenever it finally drops.
