omg, you guys, intel just dropped a new driver update for their arc graphics cards, and i'm kinda surprised by the whole thing. apparently, they're adding "gaming support" to their arc pro b70 and b65 gpus, which is pretty interesting considering these cards weren't exactly made with gaming in mind.

so, from what i understand, the arc pro b70 was initially designed for gaming, but by the time it hit the market, intel had already shifted their focus to using it for local ai models and stuff. and honestly, the specs are kinda crazy - 32 gb of vram, which is way more than you'd need for gaming, and a price tag near $1,000. it's like, who is this card even for?

i'm curious to know how much effort intel put into optimizing the b70's gaming performance, but i guess we'll just have to wait and see. the driver update is supposed to introduce some new tweaks and improvements, but it's hard to say how much of a difference it'll make. the arc pro b70's gpu is definitely more powerful than the one in the arc b580, with 32 xe2 cores and a 256-bit bus, but it's still unclear if it'll be able to deliver rtx 4070 to rtx 5070 levels of performance.

preorders are available at major retailers, but i'm not sure if i'd want to drop $1,000 on a card that's still kinda uncertain in terms of gaming performance. i mean, the rtx 5070 is still way faster, and even with the driver update, it's hard to say if the arc pro b70 will be able to keep up. i guess we'll just have toRead more: Full article on www.pcgamer.com
