so i just heard about this crazy delay for the indie game future? no thanks! and i'm lowkey outraged. basically, the steam reviewers are having a fit over some "untextured polygons" that show a bit of nudity, and they're demanding that the dev adds a "watch the sex scene" button just so they can review it.



i mean, what's the point of even having human reviewers if they're not gonna play through the actual game? it's not like future? no thanks! is some massive open world epic - it's only supposed to be six hours long. and from what i've seen, the nudity is actually pretty mild and is used to make a point in the story. the main character harvey is trying to get euthanized, and one of the things on his bucket list is to have sex. it's all pretty darkly comedic and satirical.



it's just so weird that valve is being this strict about it, especially when you consider that other games on steam have way more explicit content. i'm not saying that future? no thanks! should be allowed just because others are, but it feels like the rules are being applied super arbitrarily. and the fact that the dev had to create a special build just for the reviewers is kinda pathetic. can't they just, like, play the game like normal people?



anyway, future? no thanks! is still coming out, just a bit later than expected. it'll be available on pc and mac, and preorders are available at major retailers. i'm pretty stoked to get my hands on it, even if it's just to see how the whole thing plays out. the delay is annoying, but it's also kinda funny - i mean, who needs a "watch theRead more: Full article on www.rockpapershotgun.com
