so, you might've heard about the steam machine that basically died last week - it was a pretty big deal, especially since it was thought to be a super serious graphics card issue. but, in a pretty crazy turn of events, it's actually back up and running now.

apparently, the user who owned the steam machine, me_hill, tried a bunch of different things to get it working again. at first, they tried turning it off and on again (you know, the classic fix), but that didn't work. they even left it off for like 30 minutes at a time, but still nothing. it wasn't until they left it unplugged overnight and messed around with some bios settings that it finally started working again.

i'm kinda curious about what exactly they did to fix it, since they didn't really go into detail. but from what i've seen, other users were suggesting that they should try entering the bios and doing a full reset. i guess that's what they ended up doing, and it seems to have worked like a charm. it's pretty cool that the steam machine community was able to come together and help me_hill figure out the issue.

it's also pretty funny that me_hill is feeling a bit silly for posting about the issue in the first place. they said they were just really tired and stressed out, and the ominous error code wasn't exactly what they needed. but hey, at least it all worked out in the end, and now they can go back to playing games like crusader kings. preorders are available at major retailers, by the way, if you're interested in checking out the steam machine for yourself.
