so i just heard about this really cool thing that's got some devs at the sims all jealous - basically, there's this other game called paralives that lets you create characters with asymmetric shoes, like, one shoe can be totally different from the other. it sounds kinda small, but apparently it's a big deal because it means they can also do things like prosthetic legs and stuff, which is really cool.

i love that the devs at the sims are taking note of this and wanting to incorporate it into their own game. jess hyland, one of the senior character artists, was talking about how she wishes they could do something like that, and it's not just about the shoes - it's about the possibilities it opens up for character customization. like, with asymmetric shoes, you could have a prosthetic leg that doesn't require a whole new shoe asset, which would be so much more realistic and inclusive.
