omg, you guys, i just learned about the first ever tv show based on a game and i am still trying to wrap my head around it. it's a pac-man animated series from the 80s, produced by hanna-barbera, and let me tell you, it's a wild ride. i mean, we've had some pretty meh game adaptations on tv and film lately, but this one takes the cake.

apparently, the show is set in pac-land, where pac-man, ms. pac-man (or pepper, for some reason), and their baby pac-baby live in pac-village. it's protected by a superhero named super-pac, because why not, right? and of course, the whole family is constantly being chased by those pesky ghosts - inky, blinky, pinky, clyde, and sue. yes, sue is a lady ghost from the ms. pac-man game, and i'm kinda here for it. but anyway, the ghosts work for this villain mezmaron, who's basically just a bane-esque character with a muzzle over his mouth.

i have to admit, watching this show has given me a new appreciation for how far we've come with game adaptations. i mean, we've had some stinkers, like the resident evil tv show, but at least they're trying, you know? this pac-man show, on the other hand, feels like they just threw some words together and hoped for the best. it's like they took every pac-man reference and mashed them all together into this weird, lazy world. and don't even get me started on mezmaron - he feels like a total knockoff of gargamel from the smurfs.
