omg, you guys, i just learned something totally mindblowing - clippy, the infamous paperclip from back in the day, is actually a dude. i know, i know, it sounds crazy, but apparently the guy who created clippy has confirmed it. i'm still trying to wrap my head around it, but it's kinda cool to think about.

so, i was reading this article about clippy's creator, kevan atteberry, and he was talking about all the weird fan art he's seen over the years. like, there was this one piece that showed clippy as pregnant, and atteberry was just totally confused - how did a paperclip get pregnant, right? it's pretty funny, but also kinda interesting to see how people interpret clippy in different ways.

i'm loving all the little tidbits i'm learning about clippy's history, too. did you know that atteberry designed clippy on a mac? like, the ultimate pc mascot was created on a rival platform - it's almost too funny. and get this, atteberry even got sent some clippy erotica (yeah, that's a thing) and he was just not impressed with the writing skills. i mean, i'm not surprised, but still.
anyway, it's been really cool to revisit clippy and all the nostalgia that comes with it. microsoft even brought him back as an easter egg last year, which was a nice little surprise. but let's be real, clippy will never be the same as he was back in the day - he's just too quaint and old-school now. still, it's nice to look back and appreciate how far we've come (or not come, depending on how you look at it).
