okay, so you guys know how final fantasy 7 just won't quit, right? like, the original game was a masterpiece, and then we got all these spinoffs and remakes and it's just been a never-ending journey. but supposedly, the upcoming final fantasy 7 revelation is actually going to be the end of the remake trilogy. i'm not sure if i believe it, though - we've been strung along before.



so the director, naoki hamaguchi, was talking about the game and how there might be dlc in the future. apparently, he can feel the pressure from fans who just don't want the series to end yet. i mean, i'm one of them - i love final fantasy 7 and i'm not ready to say goodbye. but at the same time, i want the story to be concluded in a way that feels satisfying. hamaguchi says that the main game will have a complete story, and any dlc would just be a bonus, like a spinoff focused on a specific character.



i think it's cool that they're considering fan demand, but at the same time, i don't want them to feel obligated to keep making more content just because we're hungry for it. if they do decide to make dlc, i hope it's something really special and not just a cash grab. hamaguchi seems to be on the same page, though - he says that they're focused on finishing the game for now, and they'll worry about what comes next later. preorders are available at major retailers, by the way.
