so i just found out about this guy on youtube who's literally obsessed with soloing elden ring nightreign's hard mode over and over again. like, we're talking dozens and dozens of runs on the same two maps with the same bosses - it's kind of mind-blowing. he's really good at the game, too, and uploads multiple runs a week, which is pretty impressive.

i have to admit, i'm a bit fascinated by this guy's dedication to the game. he's been playing in the super hard deep of night mode since it came out, and has been focusing on depth three of five for the past few months. apparently, the jump in difficulty from depth three to four is huge, with enemies dealing twice as much damage, so it's not surprising that he's stuck on this level. even some of the best players out there have said that soloing depth five just isn't fun, so i can see why he's content to keep playing on a lower level.

what's really interesting about this guy's videos is that they're kind of soothing to have on in the background while you're doing something else. but when you look at his body of work as a whole, it's pretty staggering - all those hours and hours of gameplay, all on the same few levels. i can see how it would get to the point where you start to recognize different map seeds and anticipate boss placements, which is kind of crazy.

i'm not sure what it is about this guy's story that's so captivating, but i think it's because he's just so passionate about the game. he's not trying to set records or get a ton of views - he's just playing for the sake of playing, and that's really relatable. preordersRead more: Full article on www.pcgamer.com
