so i just heard about this new star wars game, fate of the old republic, and i'm pretty hyped about it. it's like a spiritual successor to the old kotor games, which i've played and loved. the thing that's really got me interested, though, is that the dev team is taking a pretty old-school approach to making the game.

apparently, the team is going to be kept small, which i think is a great idea. sometimes when there are too many people working on a game, it can feel really bloated and messy. they're going to be bringing in some contractors to help out, which is a bit of a mixed bag for me. on the one hand, it's great that they're getting extra help, but on the other hand, i worry about the contractors not getting the same benefits as the rest of the team.

one thing that's really cool, though, is that the devs are totally against using ai in the game. i mean, i'm not a huge fan of ai in games either - it always feels kind of... soulless, you know? the dev, casey hudson, said something similar in an interview, which is pretty reassuring. it's nice to know that they're taking a more personal approach to making the game.

i'm also really glad to hear that the game isn't going to be some massive, 200-hour slog. i mean, don't get me wrong, i love a good long game, but sometimes it feels like devs are just padding out the gameplay to make it seem more impressive. fate of the old republic is going to have multiple storylines, though, so there will be plenty of replay value. and the best part? it's supposed to come out before 203Read more: Full article on www.rockpapershotgun.com
