so i've been keeping up with critical role's new campaign, and i have to say, it's been a wild ride. they're doing this massive 13-player thing, which is just crazy ambitious. it's like, three parties, all playing together in this huge city called dol-makjar, and the stakes are super high. i was a bit skeptical at first, but the latest episodes have totally won me over.

one of the things that's really impressed me is how the dm, brennan lee mulligan, has been able to bring all these different storylines together. it's like, each party has their own thing going on, but they all intersect in really cool ways. and the latest arc, where they all come back to the city, has been especially great. there's this one scene, the hallowed round, where they're all trying to heal this scar on the face of the world, and it's just so epic.

now, i know some people might be thinking, "okay, this all sounds cool, but what about the danger? can anyone actually die?" and, honestly, that was one of my concerns too. but, spoiler alert, someone finally does die, and it's actually really heartbreaking. it's this character, teo, and he makes this wrong turn in the tachonis manor, and it just goes really badly for him. it's a great example of how the game can be really unforgiving, and it makes me respect the dm even more for being willing to make those tough calls.
