oh my gosh, you guys, quartz is literally the most essential material in subnautica 2. like, without it, you're pretty much stuck with nothing. it's used to craft some super important tools, including the scanner, which is basically the key to unlocking all the other blueprints. so, if you're like me and you're just starting out, you're probably wondering where on earth to find this magical stuff.

apparently, quartz can be found in small chunks on and inside these really cool coral domes on the ocean floor. they're pretty easy to spot, especially the orange and green ones, and there are tons of them just northwest of the lifepod. you can just grab them by hand, which is pretty convenient, and use them to craft basic tools and glass. but, let's be real, you're going to need a lot more quartz than that, especially as you progress through the game.

so, where do you find more quartz, you ask? well, it turns out that there are these medium-sized crystals that you can smash with your multitool, which gives you a few more quartz at a time. but, if you want to stock up on quartz for real, you're going to need to find these large quartz deposits. and, from what i've heard, the best place to find them is inside caves, or this one really cool trench by a water current not far from the old habitat. it's like, 350-400 meters north of the lifepod, and it's literally filled with quartz, titanium, copper, silver, and even lead. talk about a goldmine, right?
