so i just heard that hideo kojima's upcoming horror game od is still a go, despite microsoft's latest round of cuts. this is actually the second time od has managed to escape the chopping block, which is pretty impressive if you ask me. i mean, we all know kojima is a legend in the gaming world, but it's still cool to see his projects getting the green light even when other games are getting axed.



apparently, microsoft is doing some major restructuring and reevaluating their investments in the gaming world. this has led to a bunch of layoffs and game cancellations, which is always sad to see. but od seems to be one of the lucky ones, thanks in part to its all-star cast and crew. i'm talking about jordan peele, sophia lillis, hunter schafer, and the late udo kier - it's like a dream team of talented people. and let's not forget that phil spencer, the former xbox boss, was a big fan of the project, and his replacement asha sharma seems to be on board as well.



one thing that's really interesting about od is that kojima doesn't even think of it as a game, per se. he's said that it's more like a movie, or a new form of media altogether. i'm not entirely sure what that means, but i'm definitely intrigued. and with peele on board, i'm hoping for something really unique and terrifying. i mean, the guy is a master of horror, so i'm expecting big things from this collaboration.
