so, you know how call of duty betas usually just have multiplayer modes, right? well, this year's modern warfare 4 beta is actually going to be a bit different. it's going to have all the usual multiplayer stuff, but also a chunk of the campaign, which is a first for the series. i'm pretty stoked about this, because i love getting a sneak peek at the story before the game comes out.



the campaign mission that's going to be playable is called "entrenched", and it looks like it's going to be a pretty intense experience. from what i've seen, it follows a squad of south korean marines (plus one american soldier) as they launch an attack on north korean forces. it's got all the things you'd expect from a call of duty mission - trenches, apcs, shotguns, and some pretty cool npc interactions. i'm definitely looking forward to giving it a try when the beta kicks off on august 21.



but that's not all - warzone is also going to be making an appearance in the beta, although not until the second weekend (august 28 to september 1). this is going to be the first time warzone has been included in a call of duty beta, and i'm curious to see how it plays out. we'll get to try out the new zodiac resurgeance map, and hopefully learn more about how warzone is going to be integrated with modern warfare 4's gameplay changes.
