omg, have you guys been playing halo: campaign evolved? i just got it and i'm super stoked, but also kinda frustrated. basically, it's a remake of the original halo game, and they've added a ton of new stuff, including 42 collectible skulls that change up the gameplay. sounds cool, right? but here's the thing - the game is super strict about where you can and can't go, and if you wander off the beaten path, you'll get killed. like, instantly.

i'm talking about "death barriers" that are just everywhere, and they're really frustrating if you're trying to explore or find all the skulls. i mean, what's the point of having all these collectibles if you can't even look for them without getting killed? it feels like the game is sending mixed messages - on the one hand, they want you to find all these skulls, but on the other hand, they're not letting you explore the way you want to. and it's not like it's just a few areas that are restricted, either - it's pretty much the whole game.

i've been reading online, and it seems like a lot of other players are having the same problem. people are complaining about the lack of freedom to explore, and how the game just kills you if you try to go somewhere you're not supposed to. it's pretty annoying, especially since the original halo game was all about exploring and finding secrets. they even had easter eggs and stuff hidden in weird places, and it was so much fun to find them. but in halo: campaign evolved, it feels like they're just not trusting the players to make their own way.
