so, you guys remember the whole gta trilogy remaster debacle? it was pretty wild, and as a huge fan of the original games, i was really disappointed in how they turned out. basically, they were buggy, had weird textures and models, and just didn't feel like the same games we all know and love.

i recently came across an interview with thomas williamson, the ceo of grove street games, the company that worked on the remasters. he seems to understand why fans were so upset, and acknowledges that the games weren't released in the best state. however, he also mentions that according to their metrics, a lot of people were still playing and enjoying the games. i'm not entirely sure i buy that, though - just because people are playing the games doesn't mean they're happy with the way they were remastered.

williamson also thinks that if rockstar had done the remasters in-house, they would have turned out way better. and honestly, i think he's right. the gta trilogy is a huge part of gaming history, and it deserves to be treated with care and respect. it's not like the remasters are completely unplayable or anything, but they're just not up to the standards we expect from rockstar. and as for the original soundtracks, it's still weird to me that they're not included - like, what's the point of remastering a game if you're not going to include all the music that made it so iconic in the first place?

anyway, it's been a while since the last patch for the gta trilogy remasters, and i'm still holding out hope that rockstar will release another one to fix some of the remaining issues. preorders are availableRead more: Full article on www.pcgamer.com
