omg, you guys, there's an awesome freebie on steam right now - moonlighter, a super cool shopkeeper-dungeon crawler hybrid game. i mean, who doesn't love managing their own shop and going on dungeon crawls to stock up on goodies? it's like the perfect combo of sim and action.

so, moonlighter is all about running your own shop during the day, pricing items just right so the locals will buy them, and then heading out to dungeons at night to collect all the loot you can carry. it's pretty addictive, and i love how you can customize your shop and interact with the quirky townspeople. the dungeon crawls are pretty fun too, with a bunch of different items and enemies to discover.

the reason we can grab moonlighter for free right now is because the devs are hyping up the release of moonlighter 2: the endless vault, which is coming out on september 2. apparently, the new game takes some inspiration from hades, with isometric combat and a stronger focus on building relationships with the town's characters. it also shifts away from the binding of isaac-style dungeon exploration and towards a more node-choosing system, similar to ftl or slay the spire.
i'm definitely intrigued by the changes in moonlighter 2, and i might have to check out the demo on steam to see what it's all about. but in the meantime, i'm just going to enjoy playing the original moonlighter for free - you can add it to your steam account until august 9, so be sure to grab it while you can. preorders are available at major retailers, if you're interested in picking up the sequel when it launches.

anyway, i think moonRead more: Full article on www.pcgamer.com
