so, big news for metal gear solid fans - the source code for metal gear solid 2 has leaked online as of april 30th. i'm still trying to wrap my head around this, but basically, it means that the underlying code that makes the game work is now out in the wild. it's pretty crazy to think about, especially considering the game is over 20 years old now.



i've been a fan of the metal gear series for ages, and it's always fascinating to learn more about its history. did you know that hideo kojima almost quit konami after 9/11 affected the release of metal gear solid 2? it just goes to show how much passion and dedication goes into making these games. and speaking of passion, konami is actually asking fans what metal gear game they think should get a remake next - i'm totally voting for the original metal gear solid, it would be so cool to see it updated with modern graphics.



it's also worth noting that some of the metal gear games that were previously delisted are set to return, which is amazing news for collectors and fans who missed out on them the first time around. and, fun fact, metal gear solid was originally going to feature snake befriending rats - can you imagine how different the game would have been? preorders are available at major retailers for the upcoming re-releases of metal gear, metal gear solid, and metal gear solid 2 on pc, so if you're as excited as i am, be sure to check those out.
