omg, you guys, have you heard the latest about the pc market? basically, it's been hit hard by the memory crisis, and for the first time in over a year, global shipments have actually gone down. like, it's not a huge drop or anything - only 4% less than the same time last year - but still, it's kinda wild to think that even with all the hype around new tech and windows migration, people are just not buying as many pcs as they used to.



so, what's going on here? apparently, it all comes down to the rising cost of components, especially memory. it's gotten to the point where manufacturers are having to raise their prices, cut back on entry-level options, or just focus on making more expensive, high-end systems. and yeah, that makes sense - i mean, who can afford to drop a thousand bucks on a new pc, right? even the big brands like lenovo, hp, and dell are feeling the pinch, with shipments down 2%, 8%, and 6% respectively.



but here's the thing - not everyone is struggling. asus and apple are actually doing pretty well, with increases of 4% and 13% respectively. i guess that's partly because they've got some more affordable options out there, like the macbook neo. still, it's not enough to offset the overall trend, and the pc market as a whole is still on the decline. preorders are available at major retailers, but honestly, i'm not sure how many people are gonna be willing to shell out the cash for a new pc right now.
