hey guys, so you know how there's been a lot of buzz around framework's new laptop that's basically a macbook pro for linux users? well, i just found out that it's been delayed by a month, which is kinda a bummer. apparently, they're having some issues with the display and touchpad that they need to iron out before it's ready to ship.

i'm actually pretty interested in this laptop, since i've been looking for a new device that can handle all my gaming and browsing needs. and from what i've seen so far, framework's laptop seems like it's got a lot of potential - it's got a really sleek design, a 13.5-inch 2880x1920 custom display, and a haptic touchpad that's supposed to be super responsive. plus, it's designed to be really customizable, which is a big plus in my book.

but anyway, back to the delay - apparently, the touchpad has a bug that causes it to reset itself after repeated clicking, which is pretty annoying. and the display has some issues with the current panel that need to be fixed with a firmware update. framework is waiting for the new pcb to be tested before they can start shipping the laptop out, which is why it's been delayed until late july. preorders are available at major retailers, though, so if you're interested in getting your hands on one, you can still go ahead and order it.

one thing that's not been delayed, though, is the mainboard shipments - if you've already preordered one, you can still expect it to arrive by june. and if you're looking to buy the display by itself, that's been delayed too, but it'll be available in july. iRead more: Full article on www.pcgamer.com
