ok so you guys know how everyone's been waiting for half-life 3 for like, forever? well, it turns out that chet faliszek, one of the writers who worked on half-life 2 and other valve games, has zero interest in writing it. and honestly, i kind of get it. i mean, the pressure to deliver a game that lives up to the hype must be insane.

faliszek basically says that he's not into dealing with all the deep lore and backstory that comes with a game like half-life. he's more of a character writer, and he likes to focus on how people react to things in the moment, rather than getting bogged down in all the details. and i think that's really cool, because it's a totally different approach to writing. but at the same time, it's not hard to see why he wouldn't want to touch a game like half-life 3 with a ten-foot pole - the fans are super passionate, and they can get pretty intense when it comes to the lore and the story.
