so there's been some drama going on behind the scenes with bungie and their former marathon director, christopher barrett. basically, he got fired back in march 2024 and then sued sony and bungie, claiming they breached his contract and defamed him. but now, it seems like all that drama has finally come to an end.

barrett recently posted on social media that he's reached a settlement with sony and bungie, and he's actually pretty happy with the outcome. he didn't go into details about what the settlement entails, but it's clear that he's relieved to have this chapter closed. i mean, who wouldn't be, right? it's not every day you get to walk away from a lawsuit against two huge gaming companies.

the whole thing started when barrett was accused of sending inappropriate messages to female staff at bungie. it's pretty gross, and i'm glad that the company took action. but barrett claimed that the real reason he got fired was because he was about to get a massive bonus - we're talking over $45 million. that's a pretty big incentive to get rid of someone, if you ask me. anyway, it's all water under the bridge now, and barrett is free to move on to his next project.
